OPERATION JUDGING APPARATUS FOR FLOAT TYPE DRAIN TRAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and accurately judge the operating state of a float type drain trap.;SOLUTION: A free float type steam trap 20 is so constituted that a cover body 2 is fastened to a body 1 with an inlet 4 and an outlet 6 to form a casing having a valve chamber 3 inside and that a valve port 7 provided at the lower side wall of the valve chamber 3 is opened and closed with a float 9 disposed in the valve chamber 3. An ultrasonic transmitter-receiver 14 is fitted to the bottom part outer surface of the valve chamber 3 of the free float type steam trap 20 and connected to a control computing element 15. Ultrasonic waves are emitted upward from the ultrasonic transmitter-receiver 14, and the liquid level is detected from the time required for the ultrasonic waves to return being reflected by the liquid surface. If the liquid level is lower than the valve port 7, it is judged that there is gas leakage, and if the liquid level is maintained to the higher level than the specified level, it is judged that discharge capacity is small.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
