PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile terminal by which power consumption is saved and long-term usage is enabled by restricting a max. data transmission speed depending on a battery remaining quantity. SOLUTION: A battery holding time and max. data transmission speed are made to correspond to each other and stored in a table 119. A battery holding time calculating part 118 calculates battery holding time, based on the battery remaining quantity detected by a battery remaining quantity detecting part 117 and the transmission output information generated by a transmission output control part 115. A comparison part 121 reads the max. data transmission speed corresponding to the calculated battery holding time from the table and compares it with a data transmission speed to be used, which is inputted to an input part 120. Calling request is made by using the lower data transmission speed as a result of the comparison result.
