PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a memory capacity excluded out of the extension of a memory from becoming useless.;SOLUTION: An interface controller is provided with a memory type discrimination circuit 4 for obtaining information necessary for accessing the capacity of an extended memory, the use/non-use of a clock, etc., a memory control circuit 3 for generating an access timing signal optimum to the extended memory on the basis of the information necessary for an access, a clock generation circuit 5 for controlling the supply of clocks to the extended memory on the basis of the information necessary for the access, and a bus exchanger circuit 7 for absorbing differences among the memory control circuit 3, a register circuit 6, and a card interface of a PC body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
