PICTURE DATA MANAGING METHOD, PICTURE DATA RETRIEVING METHOD AND OPI SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manage picture data and to precisely retrieve picture data even if the name of a folder storing picture data is changed in an OPI system.;SOLUTION: A certification file is copied in a folder under an OPI directory 90. Thus, an OPI folder 70 is set. A high resolution picture folder 72, a low resolution picture folder 74 and a status folder 76 are generated in the OPI folder 70. A user can arbitrarily use the OPI folder 70 except for the folders. A high resolution picture 78, a lower resolution picture 20 and other associated data can be stored in the same OPI folder 70. ID (mentioned in ID file 110) which is invariable by the change of the name of the folder is issued and the corresponding relation of ID and the folder name (or folder path) is managed by an OPI data base.
