A Technical field MV This invention relates in general to microsurgery and ophthalmic systems and particularly to a control system for operating micro-surgical instruments. UM History of the MV Current ophthalmic micro-surgical systems provide one or more instruments connected to a control console. The instruments are often operated electronically or pneumatically and the control console provides electrical control or fluid pressure signals to operate the instruments. The control console usually includes several different types of actuable controllers per person to generate control signals provided to the surgical instruments. Frequently,The surgeon uses a pedal controller to remotely control the surgical instruments. The conventional console has keys (push buttons) and adjustable handles to adjust the desired operating features of the system. The conventional control system usually serves several different functions. For example, typical ophthalmic micro-surgical system has capabilities for previous and/or posterior segments and may include a variety of functions such as irrigation/aspiration, vitrectomy, micro-scissors cut, fibre optic lighting, and fragmentation/emulsification. Meanwhile,conventional ophthalmic and microcircuit systems have contributed to enabling micro-surgery.
