"PROCESSES FOR THE USE OF POLYMERS CONTAINING N-VINYL AND SELF-SHORT, PRE-SHORT AND CO-SHORT OF LEATHER AND FINE SKIN FUR AND FOR FINE LEATHER AND FUR SKIN" The invention refers to the use of polymers containing n-vinyl units, obtained by radically initiated polymerization of a monomer or a mixture of monomers consisting of (A) 5 to 100% by weight of n-vinylamides or n-vinylamines; (B) 0 to 95% by weight of monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids with 3 to 8 C atoms or their derivatives; (C) 0 to 95% by weight of n-vinyl or C-vinyl compounds and (D) 0 or less than 10% by weight of copolymerizable monomers. The aforementioned polymers are used in the form of aqueous solutions or dispersions for self-tanning, pre-tanning, or co-tanning of softened skins and leathers and for the retanning of leathers and fine fur.
