The proposed device for applying a microcrÛping onto a paper web has a cylinder (10) that can be driven and heated, and a pressing beam (14) movable radially contrary thereto whereby between the cylinder (10) and the pressing beam (14) there is placed a rubber cloth (11) moving at a velocity that is less than circumferential velocity of that cylinder and which supports a paper web (17) being subjected to crÛping. Said rubber cloth (11) reverse side is provided with formation extending in the rubber cloth (11) longitudinal direction.
