The coupling device (1) is for connecting a shaft to a tool and comprises a shaft end accommodation (12) consisting of a connecting piece and a screw thread, a sleeve (3) and clamp devices (4). The clamp devices clamp the shaft by means of a wedge effect through screwing the sleeve over the shaft accommodation. The clamp devices are fixed to the sleeve and extend inwards into it. They have a number of clamp lips with a conical cover-shaped surface bent around the upper edge (12) of the sleeve.
