The inductive sensor (1) is provided with a detection part (2) which detects a magnetic field in a detection direction. It has devices (6) for stimulating a magnetic auxiliary field whose magnetic field lines run parallel to the detection direction. These devices comprise at least one permanent magnet, which is located at a distance from the detection part in line with the detection direction. Adjustment devices (4,7,8) are provided for the distance between the at least one permanent magnet and the detection part. The detection part has at least one coil and the detection part is connected with a support, on which is at least one permanent magnet (6) displaceable along the support.
