The method is for packing products (P) successively fed to a packing station (1) incorporating a continuously forwardly moving packing track (B). The products are placed on the track at the location of the introduction position (1a). The longitudinal edges of the packing track during the forward movement are folded over to form a packing sheath (K). Between two successive products in the sheath at least one cross connection (S) is fitted and the sheath at the locations of such connections is separated to form packages containing loose products. The packing sheath between two successive products is tied-in, at least in a cross direction.
