Blank thickness is altered in given regions by heating. A method for treating a deep-drawn aluminium blank comprising a pre-aged or reversion-treated blank made from an aluminium alloy and having a given thickness, comprises heating the for a period of between 2-1800 seconds until a temperature of 150-550degreesC is reached, in order to alter the thickness of the blank in given areas.
