The net (1) has quadrangular mesh holes, each mesh hole having two intersecting diagonal central axes passing through opposite corners. When not in use, the net has a square or rectangular shape, with one of the diagonal central axes of the mesh hole extending parallel to one of the two sides, and the other diagonal central axis extends parallel to one of the other two sides. An endless cord (8) extends around the net periphery and is preferably braided to the mesh holes around the outside of the net. Independent claims are also included for (a) a combination of the net and a trailer (12), especially one with an open top side, (b) a combination of the net and an transport vessel with an open top side, and (c) the use of the net for securing loads inside a transport vessel with an open top side.
