Sigmoid splint device for endoscopy comprising tubular member with different diameters and two seals

A splint device for use in medical endoscopy to guide an endoscope having an outer diameter, comprises an elongated tubular member 12 having an outer surface 14, an inner surface16, a distal end 18 and a proximal end 20. Distal end 18 has a first outside diameter and proximal end 20 has a second outside diameter. The second outside diameter is greater than the first outside diameter. First sealing means 22 located at distal end 18 is for sealing the annular space between inner surface 16 of distal end 18 and the endoscope when the endoscope is inside tubular member 12. First sealing means 22 has an opening and an internal surface. The opening has a diameter slightly smaller than or substantially equal to the outer diameter of the endoscope. Second sealing means 32 located at proximal end 20 is for sealing the annular space between the inner surface of proximal end 20 and the endoscope when the endoscope is inside tubular member 12. A method of using the splint device is also dislosed.
