Anti-tarnishing solution and a method for preventingtarnishing of copper or copper alloy To provide an anti-tarnishing solution for copper or copperalloy material which can produce a treated surface havingoutstanding heat resistance as well as anti-tarnishing effectin ordinary environment, with excellent adhesion to resin atlow temperatures, and to establish an anti-tarnishing methodusing the above solution. The anti-tarnishing solutioncomprises a silane coupling agent and a metal nobler thancopper or a salt of the metal as major constituents and wateror an organic solvent as a solvent, further comprising a pHbuffering agent and/or a surfactant. The anti-tarnishingtreatment is carried out by dipping the copper or copper alloyin the anti-tarnishing solution or by sprinkling or sprayingthe solution over the object.
