The insulator comprises a conductive casing (10) containing at least one component (11) insulated against low frequency AC and/or DC signals, each of these components having a first connection point electrically connected to the casing and a second connection point for connecting an outer wrapping (5) for one of the cables to the conductor pair (6) that extend from the cable and into the component. After the conductor pairs have fanned out inside the casing, each pair can leave the casing via a component (12) in electrical contact with the casing and continuously enclosing the conductor pairs between the casing and the earth connection to which the pairs are connected.
