The device includes atomizer nozzle(s) (6). Preferred Features: Ultrasound atomizes the fluid into droplets of 10 - 100 micro m diameter, preferably 20 - 60 micro m diameter. The specimen placed on a circular slide (3) and surrounded by an absorbent for excess fluid. It is spun with acceleration at most 200 g while atomized fixative, stain and rinse fluids are applied sequentially to it. For a blood specimen fixative is applied for 10 - 25 secs, eosin solution applied for 10 - 60 secs, tiazin solution applied for 20 - 60 secs and rinsing solution for 10 - 30 secs.
