A method for introducing ionic or ionizable species (organic or inorganic) in a concrete structure. A method for introducing ionic species in a concrete structure in order to improve their properties (such as armor protection of concrete against corrosion and provide it with water repellent properties, amongst other), consisting of the concrete treated is placed between two containers with respective electrodes, introducing into one container water (in the catholyte) in the other solution of interest into the concrete and applying between anode and cathode a potential difference of at least 12 volts. As anolyte compartment can be employed occupied by a wire mesh connected to the positive pole (anode), acting as cathode itself concrete reinforcement as catholyte and this foam. Also as cathodic compartment can employ a foam (placed on the other side of the concrete material to be treated) also occupied by a metal mesh which act as cathode.
