Anatomically shaped shoe sole comprises a frame with a gap at the arch filled with softer material

The sole is built up using a resilient frame (2) of the required outline with a gap (4) near the arch of the foot. The inside of the frame and the gap (4) is filled with a softer material (3) and the parts are vulcanized together. Finally an inner liner (6), e.g. of leather, can be fitted. An Independent claim is also included for a sole made by this method which follows the outline and curvature of the shape of the foot.
