In the process, according to the invention, forthe compensation of changes of the wavelength of thelight source of a fibre-optic gyro having a closed resetcontrol loop, use is made of the finding that the voltagerange which is required for a phase shift of 2.pi. in aphase modulator (4) is dependent upon the light sourcewavelength. Since the voltage required for the 2.pi. phaseshift is regulated, according to the invention thevoltage value which is thus available can be utilized forthe compensation of a change of the light sourcewavelength or of the scale factor. Moreover, in order toachieve a precise compensation it is necessary to takeinto consideration the temperature of the phase modulator(4).
