METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF HEMOGLOBIN ADDUCTS

Disclosed is an improvement to the method ofdetermining the concentration of a hemoglobin adduct ina blood sample by the steps of assaying the bloodsample for the total amount of hemoglobin, assaying theblood sample for the hemoglobin adduct, and dividingthe hemoglobin adduct concentration by the totalhemoglobin concentration. The improvement involvesnormalizing the measurement of the hemoglobin adduct tothe total amount of hemoglobin in the blood sample.
