The present invention relates to fabric care compositions to reduce the fadingof fabrics from sunlight, comprising: (A) from about 1 % to about 25 % byweight of the composition of a non-fabric staining, light stable antioxidantcompound, preferably containing at least one C8-C22 hydrocarbon fatty organicmoiety; (B) from 3 % to about 50 % by weight of the composition of a fabricsoftening compound; (C) from about 25 % to about 95 % by weight of thecomposition of a carrier material; and (D) optionally, from about 0 % to about20 % by weight of the composition of a non-fabric staining, light stablesunscreen compound, preferably containing at least one C8-C22 hydrocarbonfatty organic moiety; wherein the antioxidant compound is a solid materialhaving a melting point of less than about 80 ~C or is a liquid at atemperature of less than about 40 ~C; wherein the sunscreen compound absorbslight at a wavelength of from about 290 nm to about 450 nm; and wherein thesunscreen compound is a solid material having a melting point of from about 25~C to about 90 ~C or a viscous liquid at a temperature of less than about 40~C.
