The present invention relates to fabric care compositions to reduce the fadingof fabrics from sunlight, comprising: (A) from about 1 % to about 25 % byweight of the composition, of a non-fabric staining, light stable sunscreencompound preferably containing at least one C8-C22 hydrocarbon fatty organicmoiety; (B) from 3 % to about 50 % by weight of a fabric softening compound;and (C) from about 25 % to about 95 % by weight of a carrier material; whereinthe sunscreen compound absorbs light at a wavelength of from about 290 nm toabout 450 nm; wherein the sunscreen compound is a solid material having amelting point of from about 25 ~C to about 90 ~C or a viscous liquid at atemperature of less than about 40 ~C.
