TEST-POINT MOUNTED FAULT INDICATOR HAVING IMMUNITY TO FAULT CURRENTS IN ADJACENT CONDUCTORS

A fault indicator for indicating the occurrence of afault current in an electrical conductor is mounted onthe test point of an elbow connector of the type commonlyused in power distribution systems. An integral collarassembly encircles the connector housing to capacitivelycouple the fault indicator circuitry to the systemconductor within the connector. The collar assemblyincludes an inner magnetic core which establishes thecoupling and an outer core which shields the inner corefrom magnetic fields resulting from fault currents inadjacent conductors.
