The optical intersatellite communications system comprises a transmissionelement with a TX laser on the transmitter end and an optical modulator fortransmitting amodulated laser beam (3), wherein this transmitter element respectivelycomprises oneanalog and one digital device, which can be selectively connected via a change-overswitch on the transmitter end to the optical modulator. The opticalintersatellitecommunications system also comprises a receiving element which has an opticalRXreceiver (21) on the receiver end and a local oscillator (22), wherein on theoutput side ofthe RX receiver (21) a low pass filter unit (23) has been connected, to whichan analog ora digital device can be selectively connected via a data signal change-overswitch (24) onthe receiver end.
