Disclosed is a device for adjustable chirping in-fibre Bragg gratingscomprising a straight beam of a longitudinally uniform cross-section,uniformly bentby an external force in a vertical plane including the axis of the beam, andanoptical fibre provided with gratings of uniform interval, or those having beenchirped in advance at a predetermined rate of interval change, extendingstraightalong said vertical plane in the beam when the beam is not loaded with theexternalforce, from the top surface at one end to the bottom surface at the other endof thebeam, penetrating on its way the neutral surface of the beam.
