PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copyright managing mechanism which has an enhanced function for preventing illegal copies and is powerful by devising the structure of a recording medium concerning the contents of information to be lent by using a communication line. ;SOLUTION: A system for managing the rental of arbitrary information contents distributed from an information rental dealer to a user Hj is provided with an information rental managing device 1 for adding utilization condition information concerning the rental of information contents to the information contents and distributing the information contents to the user Hj, an information processor 3 for receiving and borrowing the information contents with utilization condition information distributed from this information rental managing device 1 and a communication means 2 for connecting this information rental managing device 1 and the information processor 3.
