COMPUTER AIDED DETECTION OF MASSES AND CLUSTERED MICROCALCIFICATION STRATEGIES

A computer aided detection method and system to assist radiologists in thereading of medical images (1000). The method and system has particularapplication to the area of mammography including detection of clusteredmicrocalcifications and densities (3000). A microcalcification detector isprovided wherein individual detections are rank ordered and classified (5000),and one of the features for classification is derived using a multilayerperceptron.
