An apparatus for and method for powering a microprocessor from energy receivedfrom a fuel burner at ignition. A thermopile receives heat energy from theflame and generates electrical power to enable operation of a microprocessor. This electrical power is converted to a higher voltage by a special lowvoltage DC-to-DC converter which operates shortly after ignition. The speciallow voltage powers a second DC-to-DC converter which in turn powers themicroprocessor.
