The present invention provides methods, systems and devices for performingcardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), car-dioplegic arrest, suction of fluid from the aorta to remove embolic or otherfluid from the general circulation and the selectivesegmentation of the arterial system to perform differential perfusioneliminating hypoperfusion. An aortic catheter having an archlumen which extends at least in part along the length of the catheter shafthas a proximal opening coupled to a CPB machine anda distal arch opening. A corporeal lumen extends at least in part along thelength of the catheter shaft and has a proximal openingcoupled to a CPB machine and a distal corporeal opening. A suction lumenextends at least in part along the length of the cathetershaft and has a proximal suction opening coupled to a suction source and adistal suction opening residing in the aortic lumen of apatient.
