According to the invention, two reducing engines (8) are arranged on a swimming pool cover in order to open/close the same automatically. Said two reducing engines (8), which are used for traction, are supplied by a battery (13) that is charged with a solar module (12). A load regulator (14) is connected between these two. The cover (19) is controlled by four inductive proximity detectors (1, 3, 4) which act in pairs when the cover (19) is opened or closed.
