The invention relates to a method and to devices used in the field of mining and in the production of underworkings. The aim of the invention is to maintain the primary state of stress of rock formations and to prevent rock bursts. According to the inventive method to be used in mining and in the production of underworkings, the rocks are drilled or cut by drilling or cutting tools and are then split or broken by splitting or breaking tools. The invention also provides for a modular system with which the processes of drilling, cutting and subsequent splitting and breaking can be optimally performed.
