The invention relates to a method for controlling the optimal dosing quantity Dopt of treatment chemicals to be introduced into continuously flowing fluids that are to be treated. In addition, the method should, to the greatest possible extent, be unaffected by a process-related contamination or by a zero shift of the measuring probe. To these ends, the invention provides a method with which the dosing quantity (D) is periodically changed by a predeterminable dosing quantity change DELTA Di at an interval of a predeterminable clock time DELTA ti.
