An automated on-line enterprise valuation process operating in a distributed computing environment receives, from an on-line user, current and projected financial data about a subject enterprise to be valued, together with a selected list of comparable companies, and produces a fair market value for the subject enterprise. The automated on-line enterprise valuation process employs multiple valuation algorithms, taking into account dynamic aspects of the subject enterprise such as discounted cash flow and the then-current financial information of the selected comparable companies. The automated on-line enterprise valuation process may be executed simultaneously for many remotely located users at distant destinations, without any user having to install any dedicated software. A user may store valuation exercise data and results at a host computer for the automated on-line enterprise valuation process (400), and access them again at a later date to revise the current and projected subject company financial information or other data and then perform another enterprise valuation exercise.
