As part of the introduction of a new signalling standard specification, in advance of the updating instant, new signalling information (RNR'(KEx)) is stored in a communication network (KN) in place of current signalling information (RNR(KEx)). During the establishment of a communication relationship before the updating instant, the new signalling information (RNR'(KEx)) is converted into the current signalling information (RNR(KEx)). The advantage of the inventive method is that a new call number schedule can be globally implemented in a telephone network in a simple manner.
