The present invention concerns a method for the culture of oocytes suitable for embryonic development in a synthetic medium containing taurine. The oocytes, coming from female mammals, are pre-selected SN oocytes based on the morphology of the nuclear chromatin, highlighted with Hoechst 33342 fluorochrome dye, matured and fertilized in vitro, and then grown, until the blastocyst stage, in a synthetic medium containing taurine.
