Glassmaking tank furnace having a particular floor profile between sill and neck

A glassmaking furnace such as used in the manufacture of flat glass has a tank with a modified floor profile downstream of a lateral sill (11) to improve the flow pattern of glass. The floor profile is so shaped that the depth of the tank increases progressively from the top of the sill (11) to a neck (12) and drop-arch and decreases progressively from the drop-arch and neck (12) to the exit channel (14).
