The present invention relates to a process for the correction of the frequency-dependent line attenuation at fdr - measurements on high-frequency cables. The object of the invention is that the results of reflection factor measurement because of the cable own, frequency - and length dependance attenuation have substantial errors, which limit their meaningfulness. Dollars a the invention is based on the fact that for each type of cable to be measured by the manufacturer predetermined attenuation values from a set of parameters for a damping model is generated. On the basis of this damping model can be a lengths in the time domain dependent correction function, with the then the likewise in the time domain transformed measured values of the complex reflection factor to be corrected, with the formation of physically correct values.
