METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING MOBILE INTERNET PROTOCOL AGENT DISCOVERY MESSAGE IN INTER-WORKING FUNCTION OF CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a mobile internet protocol agent discovery message is provided to control mobile internet protocol(IP) agent packet transmissions in an air interface used by a mobile node(MN), so as to process the agent discovery message only without correcting operations of an inter-working function(IWF) in a code division multiple access(CDMA) system. CONSTITUTION: An agent solicitation message is transmitted to a mobile agent(MA). A data link with the MA is observed to check whether an internet control message protocol packet is received. If so, the packet is checked whether the packet is an agent advertisement message. If so, the agent advertisement message is stored. A data link with a mobile node(MN) or the MA is observed to check whether an internet control message protocol packet is received. If the received packet is the agent solicitation message, the agent advertisement message is transmitted to the MN. If the received packet is the same with a previously-stored agent advertisement message, the received agent advertisement message is stored, then new agent advertisement messages are transmitted from each mobile node.
