CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for interpolating a motion vector of a pixel in a control grid interpolating decoder according to the block pattern divided by vector quantization comprises an input vector forming portion(51) for receiving motion vectors of control points and forming a desired sized input vector based on the motion vector of the current block, a pattern code book(53) for previously storing a block pattern information corresponding to all input vectors, a vector quantizing portion(52) for comparing the input vector input from the input vector forming portion with a code value of the code book, and an interpolating portion(54) for receiving the motion vector of the current block and interpolating pixels between the control points with a predetermined way based on the block pattern information decided by the vector quantizing portion.
