PURPOSE: A Mg system hydrogen stored alloy is varied on the crystal structures thereof to improve hydrogenation characters such as an absorption and an emitting temperature and is manufactured by a simplified process. CONSTITUTION: A Mg2NiHx hydrogen stored alloy manufactured by hydrogen pressing type mechanical alloy method by using powders of nickel and magnesium, and manufacturing method and device thereof has following characteristics. The Mg2NiHx hydrogen stored alloy has a crystal grain having a diameter of 5 nm to 100 nm and an amorphous compound fine structure. The hydrogen stored alloy is made by a hydrogen pressing type mechanical alloy method by using powders of nickel and magnesium with steel balls. The powders have diameters of 0.01 nm to 100 mm and shapes of continuous flow type or shear type. Further, the device is a steel high pressure reaction apparatus having a needle shaped valve and a pressure gauge mounted thereon.
