APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY TESTING VOICE SERVICE CHANNEL OF VOICE MAIL SERVICE EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE: An apparatus for testing a voice service channel of a voice mail service(VMS) equipment is provided to automatically test voice service functions of the VMS equipment, so as to reduce testing time and increase data reliability. CONSTITUTION: A PC(6) inputs various commands for setting up an automatic tester. A normal telephone interface(12) interfaces with a normal telephone and transceives a testing dual tone multi frequency(DTMF) signal and a recording DTMF signal to a voice mail service(VMS) equipment(1) through a trunk interface(20). A clock signal unit(14) outputs a clock signal to adjust synchronizations of the normal telephone interface, the trunk interface, and a protocol processor(22). A memory(16) stores the testing/the recording DTMF signals. A timer(18) measures whether the VMS equipment receives the DTMF signals within a regular time. A comparator(24) compares a DTMF signal recorded in the VMS equipment when the DTMF signal is tested with a recorded DTMF signal outputted from the VMS equipment. The trunk interface connects voice signals, the DTMF signals, and R2-multi frequency code(RMFC) signals with a trunk to transceive the signals with the VMS equipment. The protocol processor transceives an RMFC signal for communicating with the VMS equipment. A controller(26) outputs an Add/Ctrl signal to the trunk interface and the protocol processor, and transceives data.
