Video display deflection circuit includes a source of a periodic first signal (72b) that varies according to the position of the electron beam on the cathode ray tube screen. When the first signal is at the outside of a number area, the limiter (78, 81) generates a second signal (31a) having a limited piecewise linear first portion (33) in response to the first signal. The second signal has a second portion (below 33) that varies when the variable in the first signal is the value area. Modulator 31 to the second in response to a signal and a video signal (Y) generates a modulated correction signal (31b) coupled to the auxiliary deflection winding (L1) to produce scan velocity modulated deflection of said electron beam in accordance with these signals thereby.
