POWER ALLOCATION AND CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MULTIMEDIA SERVICES IN MULTI-CODE CDMA SYSTEMS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for distributing and controlling power for a multimedia service in multiple code CDMA radio communication system are provided to minimize an interference signal power by supplying properly a power to each code according to a service item. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for distributing and controlling power for a multimedia service in multiple code CDMA radio communication system comprises a serial/parallel converter(101), a multitude of orthogonal signal diffusion processor(102-104), a transmission power regulator(108), a multitude of transmission power increase and decrease units(105-107), a multitude of orthogonal signal reverse diffusion processors(111-113), a signal quality detector(114), a parallel/serial converter(115), and a transmission power controller. A method for distributing and controlling power for a multimedia service in multiple code CDMA radio communication system comprises the steps of: distributing a transmission power; allocating a signal quality threshold, measuring a quality of a received signal, and increasing the transmission power according to the measured value.
