METHOD FOR D-CHANNEL PACKET SERVICE IN ISDN SWITCHING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for a D-channel packet service in an ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network) switching system is provided to convert a logical channel of an actual DTE(Data Terminal Equipment) in DTE/DCE(Data Circuit terminating Equipment) interface to a new virtual DCE logical channel in a network to be switched in software through the converting inside the network, when managing logical channels for physical links with multiple logical links. CONSTITUTION: A mapping table for converting logical channels is allocated to processing devices of originating/terminating parties of a network, in order to convert a logical channel of an actual DTE on interface between the DTE and a DCE into a new logical channel of the DCE. If D-channel packet data are generated to an originating subscriber inside the DTE and supplied to the processing device of the originating party, a logical channel of the originating subscriber is converted to the logical channel of the DCE by using the mapping table for converting logical channels. The D-channel packet data replaced by the converted logical channel are transmitted to the processing device of the terminating party. If the processing device of the terminating party receives the D-channel packet data replacing the logical channel, the D-channel packet data are converted to a logical channel of the originating subscriber inside the DTE by using the mapping table for converting logical channels. The D-channel packet data replaced by the converted logical channel are transmitted to the originating subscriber inside the DTE.
