PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a semi-active suspension in consideration of non-linearity are provided to compensate a currently detected damping force in consideration of the non-linearity of an actuator for improving suspension performance and steering stability. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a semi-active suspension in consideration of non-linearity includes a detector(100) for detecting general state information generated from a running vehicle to output an electrical signal and having a first acceleration speed detector(120) for detecting a vertical displacement of the vehicle body, a second acceleration detector(130) for detecting a vertical displacement of an axle and a damper state detector(140) for detecting a pressure state of a damping force controller, the damping force controller(200) for analyzing the detected state information of the vehicle via a set algorithm to control a damping force of the suspension, and a display(500) for displaying a state of the controlled damping force and diagnosis information of the suspension.
