A novel method for treating a thiazolidine derivative dinon and wherein associated with glucose sex using the drug-dependent diabetes mellitus and non-insulin-human at risk that progress complications arising therefrom are disclosed. In one embodiment, the compounds of the invention are used to prevent or delay the onset of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. In other embodiments, the compound of the present invention is used in treatment of gestational diabetes, for preventing or delaying the onset of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
