BLENDED DYES AND PROCESS FOR DYEING POLYPROPYLENE FIBERS

A polyolefin material, preferably an improved method of dyeing polypropylene fiber base material is associated with the disperse dye mixture comprising a plurality of dyes selected from the same primary color group. The concentration of each dye in each of the dye mixture and in the mixture is selected by a non-dyed sample, and testing the individual dispersion dye solution, measuring the maximum dye concentration that provides an acceptable croissant King test for the dye. A plurality of disperse dye in the mixture is at least 75% concentration in a maximum concentration of each of the individual dyes. These dye mixtures are used to prepare the disperse dye mixture to provide a dyed material in a reliable without problems in fastness in contact with the polyolefin material. Red dye mixtures and blue dye mixtures, and yellow dye mixtures may be prepared, respectively, and may each be separately dyed polypropylene fibers with a relatively dark color tone without the problem of the croissant King. Different ratios of the three kinds of dye mixtures can be used to dye polypropylene fibers in various selected darkness and color tones.
