PHOSPHATE-BOUND CASTABLE REFRACTORY USING WASTE MGO-CR2O3- BASED BRICK

PURPOSE: A phosphate-bound castable refractory using waste MgO-Cr2O3-based brick is provided to save manufacturing costs, recycle resources and improve strength by using excess sodium hexametaphosphate, dispersant. CONSTITUTION: The castable refractory comprises 45-50wt.% of ground MgO-Cr2O3-based bricks having 1-5mm of particle size, 28-35wt.% of MgO clinker(≧98% of purity) having mixed size of up to 1mm and up to 0.074mm, 5-10wt.% of Al2O3 powder smaller than 5micrometer, 3-6wt.% of Al2O3 cement as a binder and hardener, 3-6wt.% of sodium hexametaphosphate, dispersant and CaCO3 used in a weight ratio of 1:1, based on the amount of sodium hexametaphosphate.
