PURPOSE: A method for operating a virtual stock market on the internet is provided to enable a user to sell goods and services at a discounted price using a cash coupon exchanged by enabling a service user to become a member through a web site of a service provider using a computer terminal and to invest cyber money in a virtual stock market. CONSTITUTION: A service user inputs URL information, and connects to a web server of the service user(A100). A login page of a web site is transmitted. Simultaneously, a homepage is displayed(A101). The web server requests that the service user inputs login information of the user(A102). The service user inputs a user ID and a password designated. The web server transmits member information such as the ID and the password to a CGI(A103). A user who isn't authenticated by the member information inputs the user's ID and password, and basic information, and becomes a member(A104). The basic information is stored in a database(A105). The present state of individual member information is displayed(A106). The user selects a specific web page, and stock items are displayed(A107). A dealing in stocks is formed by a purchase and a sale(A108).
