PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to maintain the operation continuity of the blast furnace through the weighing normalization of large particle size ore and increase a production amount of hot metal through the stability of operating conditions of the blast furnace by lowering a total stock of a small particle size ore storing vessel. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a small particle size ore mixing mode selector (100) equipped with a selection switch (101) and connected to an electric signal communication controller (60); a weighing value input part (90) connected to the electric signal communication controller; a discharging order input part (95) inputting the raw material discharging order of the a weighed raw material discharging control PLC (80) and connected to the electric signal communication controller; and a level control signal detecting part (110) transmitting a signal of a level detector (160) installed in a small particle size ore storing vessel to the electric signal communication controller. The method comprises the steps of selecting an emergency small particle size ore mixed charging mode; inputting a weighing value and weighing a mixed amount of the small particle size ore; discharging the weighed raw materials into large particle size ore surge hoppers (30-1,30-2); discharging the charged raw materials of the large particle size ore surge hoppers and discharging small particle size ore to be mixed into a small particle size ore weighing hopper (39); and discharging large particle size ore into the large particle size ore surge hoppers and charging the small particle size ore to be mixed with the large particle size ore into a rotation chute (12).
